SUMMARY:
The Service Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial automation systems and equipment. This role ensures optimal system performance, provides technical support in the field, and collaborates with engineering teams to deliver high-quality service solutions.

- SYSTEM INSTALLATION, STARTUP, AND COMMISSIONING
- Install, start up, and commission industrial automation systems and equipment at customer sites.
- TROUBLESHOOTING, REPAIR, AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- COLLABORATION, UPGRADES, AND TRAINING
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to implement system upgrades and modifications.
- Train customer personnel on proper operation and maintenance of systems.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure readiness for upcoming jobs with respect to tools, supplies, and planning.
- DOCUMENTATION AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE
- Document service activities, equipment performance, and customer feedback.
- Update and maintain system status for tracking customer issues and requests.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry standards.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and motion controls.
- Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to changing work environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in industrial automation, field service, or equipment maintenance.
- Have taken Fanuc classes or earned related certification.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) PLCs and HMIs preferred.
- Knowledge of Fanuc robotics, motion control, and vision systems is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Up to 75% of travel required, including local and regional trips to customer facilities.
