Service Technician

Bay Area TrashCompactor is currently searching for a Field Service Technician to provide professional, reliable service for existing customer equipment, and to support new installations. Our technician will professionally handle all emergency service calls, develop/manage PM program maintenance, manage installations and ensure department safety and profitability.
Founded in 1985, Bay Area Trash Compactor’s genesis was a college business plan to reduce commercial solid waste. Forty years later, we have supplied sustainability expertise and hundreds of trash compactors, cardboard balers, and recycling equipment to everyone from McDonald’s and Starwood Resorts to Kaiser Hospitals and Apple Computer, each customer saving $10,000’s annually through our common-sense approach. We work with proven leaders in equipment manufacturing to provide our customers with proven high-quality equipment solutions.

Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Experience working with and repairing electric/hydraulic systems
- Troubleshooting expertise
- Mechanical expertise
- Ability to communicate with customers and staff professionally
- Basic computer skills
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass drug test
Responsibilities:
- Respond professionally and prepare to all service call assignments
- Drive safely, coordinating schedule with BATC team to maximize the equipment solution and travel time
- Work on-site/hands-on at equipment location to troubleshoot and provide solutions to the equipment issue to make unit operational
- Work with safety in mind to protect yourself and client
- Communicate with BATC team and manufacturers to solve equipment issues
- Provide a lasting service solution and represent BATC as a customer resource
- Seek upside opportunities for Preventive Maintenance, new equipment, solutions and safety
