Leeds Precision Instruments, Inc., located in Plymouth, MN, is seeking a Service Technician for Scientific Equipment/Microscope to join our team!
Skills and Abilities :
- Basic troubleshooting and repair capabilities of mechanical /electronic systems.
- Strong PC computer skills: Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and Quickbooks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with ISO-compliant calibrations is a plus.
- Full specific system training is provided upon hire.
- Travel Requirement - 50-70%, 2-3 weeks/month.
- Hourly plus commission
Responsibilities:
- Repair, service, and calibration of various microscopes and optical systems to include products we manufacture and others in forensic, medical, industrial, and educational settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion.
- Schedule appointments and prepare travel arrangements, both within and outside the State of MN.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- College, trade school, military, or on the job training in the area of basic mechanical and electronics troubleshooting preferred.
- Local and long-distance travel required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Biomedical background helpful.
- Previous service experience in microscopes/optics or other related fields helpful.
- Metrology/Dimensional Calibration desirable.
- Must live in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul or surrounding suburbs area.
