Job Description

The Service Technician performs pump testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment in the field. This role identifies issues throughout the service process, offers practical solutions based on the problems presented, and completes necessary repairs while on-site. The technician works independently in a client-facing environment and maintains a professional demeanor at all times while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform pump testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment in the field.
• Identify mechanical issues and faults throughout the service process and document findings clearly.
• Test equipment to verify proper operation and make necessary repairs while on-site.
• Diagnose problems effectively and offer appropriate solutions based on the issues presented.
• Use hand tools and other mechanical tools safely and efficiently to complete service tasks.
• Work independently in a client-facing environment and represent the company professionally.
• Communicate clearly with clients about equipment condition, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy equipment as required.
• Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to reduce equipment downtime.
• Adhere to safety standards and best practices while working in the field and at customer locations.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical background with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair.
• Ability to perform pump testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Proficiency using hand tools and mechanical tools in a field service environment.
• Experience working with diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy equipment repair.
• Capability to diagnose mechanical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a client-facing role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Professional communication skills to interact with clients on-site.
• Comfort working in outdoor environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a maintenance technician or field service technician.
• Experience in diesel maintenance or heavy equipment repair.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance programs in the field.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems used in pump and equipment operations.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift, Monday through Friday field-based role that requires frequent work at client sites. You will perform testing, maintenance, and repairs on pumps and related equipment, often in outdoor environments, so you must be comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions. The position involves regular use of hand tools and other mechanical tools, as well as work on diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy equipment. Work is primarily conducted in a client-facing setting, where maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor is important.

This is a Permanent position based out of Roxana, IL.

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $70720.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
