Join Our Team

We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician in our Roxana, IL location to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, pump testing, and system installation on fire apparatus and emergency rescue vehicles including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What This Role Looks Like (Day-to-Day)

  • This is primarily focused on preventative maintenance and system reliability:
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on fire apparatus and emergency vehicles
  • Conduct NFPA-compliant inspections and annual certification checks
  • Perform fire pump testing and performance verification
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical (12V/24V), hydraulic, braking, and chassis systems
  • Install and integrate emergency vehicle equipment (lighting, sirens, radios, inverters, generators, etc.)
  • Support vehicle upfitting and system integration projects
  • Fabricate and install custom components such as brackets, mounts, shelving, and storage systems
  • Assist with limited diagnostics and repairs on diesel and heavy-duty systems as needed
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used, and service notes
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment (NFPA, DOT, OSHA, PPE standards)

What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on emergency fire apparatus
  • Conduct NFPA 1910 inspections and pump testing to ensure compliance and readiness
  • Service and troubleshoot vehicle systems including electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, and drivetrain components
  • Install and integrate emergency vehicle systems and accessories
  • Perform fabrication and light welding (MIG/TIG) for custom vehicle modifications
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate work status clearly
  • Support equipment reliability through preventative maintenance and scheduled service intervals

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required (technical or vocational training preferred)
  • 2–4 years of experience in diesel, heavy truck, emergency vehicle, or industrial equipment maintenance
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical (12V/24V), hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics
  • Fabrication or welding experience (MIG/TIG preferred)
  • Experience with fire apparatus, municipal fleet, or emergency vehicles strongly preferred
  • EVT certification (Emergency Vehicle Technician) strongly preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must provide and maintain basic personal hand tools
