Service Virtualization Engineer / DevTest Engineer
Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA, 15222 / Cleveland, OH, 44136 / Dallas, TX, 75234 / Birmingham, AL, 35233 / Phoenix, AZ, 85016 / Lakewood, CO, 80215
Onsite 5 days a week
Length of Assignment: 5 Months Contract to Hire role
Pay Rate: $60 to 70/hr. on W2 ONLY
Function of the Group: The role focuses on implementing and supporting service virtualization using Broadcom DevTest (v10.9.x).
Initiatives/Projects: The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to build virtual services based on real-world requests, troubleshoot issues, and promote adoption of service virtualization across teams.
Industry background: Service virtualization within financial services preferred. Broadcom DevTest (v10.9.x) is a must.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Build and configure virtual services in Broadcom DevTest based on incoming requests and defined requirements.
Analyze service dependencies and translate requirements into functional virtual service models.
Perform basic validation and ensure services meet performance and reliability expectations - Ongoing / Frequent Responsibilities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine service virtualization use cases and improve implementations.
Provide end-user guidance on when and how to leverage service virtualization effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues within DevTest environments -As Work Progresses / Advanced Responsibilities.
Engage with Broadcom vendor support to address complex technical issues or product limitations.
Enhance and optimize virtual services through custom scripting and automation.
Contribute to best practices, documentation, and scaling adoption across teams.
Must Have Technical Skills Required (5-8 years of experience Required):
1. Broadcom DevTest (v10.9.x or similar),
2. Hands-on experience building and maintaining virtual services,
3. Strong understanding of service virtualization concepts,
4. Windows Server (2019 / 2022),
5. Experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting environments,
6. Custom Scripting (Java, JavaScript),
7. Ability to extend DevTest functionality and automate service behavior
Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
1. OpenShift,
2. Familiarity with containerized environments and deployment pipelines.
Pre-Screening Questions:
1. Describe your hands-on experience with Broadcom DevTest. Which versions have you used, and what types of virtual services have you built?
2. Provide an example of a service virtualization solution you implemented. What problem did it solve and what was the outcome?
3. Describe a challenging issue you encountered in DevTest or a similar tool. How did you diagnose and resolve it?
Interview Process: One virtual 30 minute panel interview, second round virtual 30-45 min technical panel interview.
