Service Writer

Job Title: Service Writer - Heavy Equipment

Location: Farmingdale, NY

Pay: $60,000 to $75,000 per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (No weekends)

The Role: We are hiring a full time Service Writer to act as the critical link between our shop floor and our customers. You will work closely with our veteran Shop Foreman to translate mechanical diagnostics into detailed, accurate customer estimates and invoices.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison between customers and service technicians.
• Prepare detailed service estimates based on the Foreman's assessments.
• Manage sales orders from drop off to customer pick up.
• Translate physical shop notes into accurate digital invoices using QuickBooks.
• Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and completion timelines.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a service writer within an equipment or automotive dealership.
• Strong computer proficiency, specifically with QuickBooks.
• Exceptional communication skills and patience when extracting diagnostic details from shop staff.
• Must live within a reasonable daily commuting distance to Farmingdale.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check.
