Who we're looking for:
We are seeking a dynamic Service Writer who is the first face of the business and will play a pivotal role in providing excellent customer service, managing repairs, and facilitating communication between customers and shop technicians. You must have the ability to work both on a team and autonomously with limited to no supervision.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide courteous and professional customer service.
- Detect sales opportunities for our products and services based on customer needs.
- Offer range of services to all customers face-to-face and over the phone.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails.
- Perform vehicle and customer check-ins, providing detailed information to technicians of customer requests and detail to customers from the technicians.
- Provide completed and detailed vehicle “check-in worksheet” to the Service Manager as needed and requested.
- Maintain completed and organized files of all vehicles serviced at the shop and store vehicle files according to company policy.
- Continuous updating R.O. Writer with information from the technician’s “Diagnoses and Preventative Maintenance Inspections” of each vehicle in a prompt, accurate and detailed manner.
- Contact customers with technician diagnostics and inspections, informing them of the technician’s recommendations and offering the necessary and any additional services and obtaining their approval for necessary and additional repairs, services, and sales.
- Create estimates with assistance from Service and Shop Managers.
- Provide the completed technician work orders to the Service Manager promptly and/or as requested.
- Create reminders in MS Outlook to make follow-up sales calls and complete calls promptly and as scheduled.
- Manage tow truck services.
- Receive and process payments.
- Generate invoices for completed repairs, detailing services, purchased parts and all associated labor and other costs.
- Verify distributor statements and post invoices in the system.
- Maintain Metrics Board on time, with accuracy and is top priority at the beginning of each day.
- Attend and participate in meetings.
- Additional job duties as requested and assigned.
Qualifications:
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ customer service and/or retail experience, including cashiering.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others.
- Must be able to stay organized and detail oriented.
- Adaptive learner, flexible, dependable, and punctual; must maintain and adhere to a consistent work schedule.
- Must be at least 21 yrs. of age.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
No technical experience necessary!
