Job Summary
The Food Farmacy Associate supports daily operations of a food-as-medicine program by packaging and delivering food to patients, coordinating deliveries and documentation in the EHR based on the task.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required
- Maryland resident
- Individuals eligible for the Maryland Service Year Program (generally ages 18-24)
- Experience: No prior experience required
- Licensure/Certification: None required
- Skills & Abilities:
- Safe driving practices and a clean driving record
- Time management and ability to meet delivery schedules
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to lift and carry bags (typically 25-50 lbs)
- Basic inventory tracking and documentation skills
- Customer service and communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability in the field
- Familiarity with GPS/navigation tools
What You'll Do
- Package and prepare food bags according to program guidelines
- Load, transport, and deliver food to patients safely and on schedule
- Verify deliveries and maintain accurate logs and documentation
- Communicate with patients and team members regarding deliveries, issues and delays
- Provide friendly, respectful service during patient interactions
- Support overall Food Farmacy operations, as needed

Work Environment & Demands
- Combination of time spent driving in the community, packing bags in the kitchen and assisting at the Food Farmacy pick-up location
- Regular lifting, carrying, and loading of bags (up to 25-50 lbs)
- Standing, walking, and repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries
- Fast-paced environment with set schedules and occasional route changes

- Deliveries are accurate, on time, and completed safely
- Food bags are packed correctly and meet quality standards
- Inventory is organized and discrepancies are minimal
- Positive, respectful interactions with patients and team members
