To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series, the applicant must demonstrate the following competencies:

Applicants for the GS-14 position must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such IT-related experience must include:

  • Planning, organizing, and monitoring ServiceNow-related workloads or projects.
  • Providing expert advice and support to organizational components and staff regarding ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) requirements.
  • Developing and implementing ServiceNow ITOM and ITIL-based standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Integrating ServiceNow ITOM modules with legacy systems and performing ServiceNow-related database server configuration, migration, performance monitoring and tuning, security management, and troubleshooting.

Duties of this position

  • Represents Systems Operations & Hardware Engineering technical committees working with senior technical and managerial representatives in the development of Systems-wide directives, standards, specifications, policies, implementing strategies, management guidelines, procedures, or practices, and/or in new developments and advanced techniques governing the direction of SSAs systems hardware development.
  • Serves as the leading technical authority in one of the specific functional areas and provides advice to SSA components on technical capabilities and limitations, configuration, and other related matters.
  • Collaborates with supervisors and technical experts within other segments of Systems and SSA to negotiate and coordinate mainframe or client/server infrastructure related changes impacting other organizations.
  • Implements, monitors, and enforces appropriate security measures to maintain appropriate mainframe or client/server system integrity.
