What You Will Do
We are seeking an exceptional ServiceNow Platform Owner to serve as the principal strategic leader of our enterprise ServiceNow platform. This senior-level position combines deep technical expertise with visionary leadership to drive platform innovation, ensure operational excellence, and deliver transformative business solutions across the Laboratory.

As a recognized expert in the ServiceNow platform, you will shape the future of our digital workplace, determine Laboratory-wide requirements, and work with our diverse team to architect solutions that leverage both out-of-the-box capabilities and custom development. This role offers significant autonomy and impact, working on unusually complex initiatives that will define our organization's technological trajectory.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Platform Architecture & Strategy

  • Serve as the platform owner for our ServiceNow platform, determining Laboratory-wide requirements and incorporating them into comprehensive solutions
  • Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards for ServiceNow implementation based on professional principles and industry best practices
  • Integrate strategic thinking into platform design to ensure long-term business objectives and organizational impact are central to all solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for complex, cross-functional ServiceNow implementations

Technical Leadership & Innovation

  • Research solutions for complex challenges spanning ServiceNow development, integrations, security, and data management
  • Work on highly significant and unique platform initiatives where analysis requires evaluation of intangibles and creative problem-solving
  • Lead the development of ServiceNow capabilities that contribute to future concepts, products, and technologies
  • Stay current with ServiceNow releases, industry practices, and regulatory changes affecting enterprise service management
  • Recommend sound, practical solutions to complex technical and business challenges

Project & Change Management

  • Work with key stakeholders and project managers to develop and maintain a platform roadmap that outlines key deliverables and implementation timeframes
  • Work with project managers to formally manage projects from inception through implementation, including project documentation, budget oversight, resource utilization, and benefits realization
  • Understand LANL project funding as well as maintenance and operations funding to ensure deliverables and platform maintenance are accomplished within the bounds of associated funding
  • Monitor schedules, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Work under consultative direction from key stakeholders toward predetermined long-range targets, with assignments often self-initiated

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure safety and security compliance within all ServiceNow solutions and make security an integral part of every implementation
  • Adhere to and help develop platform governance policies, programs, procedures, and best practices
  • Maintain required safety and security training and certifications
  • Foster a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment free from discrimination and harassment
Training/Certifications: ServiceNow Certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in multiple applications

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.



Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or MainLine Specialist certifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Predictive Intelligence, or AI/ML capabilities
  • Background in ITIL, DevOps, or other service management frameworks
  • Previous experience in research, national laboratory, or highly regulated environments

Work Location: The work location for this position has the potential for remote work. Remote work is defined as working offsite that is greater than 2 hours of the Laboratory location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q(Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance, and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
