ServiceNow Technical Platform Architect (Senior Staff Level)
Location: Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire


Position Overview
Client is seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Technical Platform Architect to join the Platform Team responsible for the organization's core enterprise platform (RSQ), which serves as a foundational system supporting critical business operations.
This is a Senior Staff-level role designed for a self-directed technical leader who thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced enterprise environment. The architect will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to define platform strategy, evaluate new capabilities, guide technical decisions, and drive the long-term roadmap for the ServiceNow ecosystem.
The role combines strategic architecture responsibilities with hands-on technical leadership. This individual will serve as the highest level of technical escalation within the platform organization, providing expert guidance on architecture, platform health, scalability, upgrades, integrations, AI capabilities, and complex technical tradeoffs.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and influence the technical direction of the enterprise ServiceNow platform.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify and evaluate platform capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple teams.
• Define and drive platform roadmap initiatives aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
• Lead technical design discussions involving architecture tradeoffs, risks, scalability considerations, and implementation strategies.
• Provide hands-on architectural leadership for ServiceNow development, integrations, upgrades, and platform enhancements.
• Serve as the highest level (Level 3) technical escalation point for complex platform issues.
• Support major platform initiatives including upgrades, modernization efforts, performance optimization, and platform governance.
• Evaluate opportunities to improve user experience, workflow automation, platform adoption, and operational efficiency.
• Drive strategic initiatives including data retention, archiving, storage optimization, and enterprise-scale platform improvements.
• Collaborate with development teams on architectural standards, best practices, and solution design.

Required Qualifications
ServiceNow Platform Expertise

• Deep hands-on experience architecting and supporting large-scale ServiceNow implementations.
• Experience serving as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Platform Architect within ServiceNow environments.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, workflows, integrations, security, and governance.
• Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and define scalable enterprise solutions.

Enterprise Architecture & Leadership

• Experience supporting large enterprise environments with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Demonstrated ability to influence strategic technology decisions and platform roadmaps.
• Experience leading technical initiatives without direct people management responsibilities.
• Proven ability to operate independently and provide senior-level technical leadership.

Development & Integration

• Experience with ServiceNow custom development and integrations.
• Understanding of React-based user interface development.
• Experience working with APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
• Azure DevOps / Azure Pipelines experience for CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Experience with deployment strategies, platform automation, and cloud-based delivery processes.

Data & Platform Technologies

• Understanding of Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures.
• Familiarity with Snowflake and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience supporting integrations between ServiceNow and external data ecosystems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow AI solutions and the broader ServiceNow AI portfolio.
• Hands-on exposure to:
  • Now Assist
  • AI Agents
  • AI-powered workflow automation
  • Developer productivity and build-assist capabilities
• Experience evaluating and implementing AI-driven solutions within enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of emerging ServiceNow AI capabilities and their business value.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level ServiceNow architect who combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen. They are comfortable operating as the technical authority for a mission-critical platform, partnering with executive stakeholders, defining architectural strategy, and making complex technical decisions that impact the broader organization.
This individual should be equally capable of discussing enterprise roadmap priorities with leadership and diving into architectural details involving platform scalability, integrations, AI capabilities, deployment pipelines, and ServiceNow best practices. They will bring both vision and hands-on expertise to help Client continue evolving its core platform ecosystem.
