The primary responsibility of the Servicing Compliance and Testing (SCTV)Auditor is to conduct independent and effective testing and monitoring to assess compliance with all applicable requirements, including federal, state, and agency guidance, as well as RoundPoint policies and procedures. The SCTV Auditor is expected to demonstrate a working knowledge of mortgage servicing activities and associated regulatory compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform independent, in-depth, loan-level SCTV testing utilizing the defined testing scripts. Utilize the appropriate subsystems and applications as needed and leverage guidance from SCTV Lead, Supervisor and Manager as needed.
- Evaluate testing results to identify findings that signal process or control weaknesses, gaps, or potential non-conformance with requirements, and document the findings as required in the system of record. Review assessment of results with designated testing partner.
- In partnership with SCTV Lead or Supervisor, communicate testing results with the relevant operational line(s) of business to determine the disposition of all findings, whether valid, eliminated or mitigated.
- Ensure that testing results are thoroughly documented within the system of record, including confirming that the testing and tracking systems are updated with required descriptions of testing results, documentation and rationale relative to the disposition of all findings, whether valid, eliminated or mitigated.
- In partnership with SCTV Lead or Supervisor, identify valid exceptions and ensure that they are rated, documented, and reviewed with line of business representatives, and that the disposition is documented within the tracking system.
- In partnership with SCTV Lead or Supervisor, calibrate with operational line of business partners to identify and document evidence of process or control gaps and the actionable remediations, such as with an Issue Tracker ID. Where consensus cannot be reached, identify the finding as a compliance gap and partner with SCTV Manager and Servicing Compliance to conduct a gap assessment.
- Support validation testing and risk management by performing discretionary testing as required and reporting the results to SCTV Lead, Supervisor or Manager as directed.
- Maintain an understanding and knowledge of the required audit scope, loan criteria, servicing activity, required systems, documentation, and regulatory requirements to successfully execute SCTV testing.
- Maintain responsibility for meeting RoundPoint's commitment to compliance.
- Subject to complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years mortgage servicing experience
- Familiarity with MSP and associated systems
- Experience identifying or evaluating mortgage loan servicing exceptions or control gaps.
- Experience in researching and evaluating complex transactions or issue resolution requiring the use of multiple systems and applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and via written communications.
- Ability to complete assignments independently and meet reporting targets.
- Good time management and organizational skills
Desired:
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage servicing activities and associated compliance requirements
- Ability to navigate testing scripts and question trees, interpret requirements and evaluate whether actions taken were appropriate.
- Experience identifying and testing compliance and control related activities.
- Loan audit experience.
