Serving the Elderly - making friends & creating smiles

Are you compassionate? Are you a good listener? Do you enjoy spending time with the elderly? Do you have 2-4 hours a month (flexible) to volunteer in your neighborhood? Being a part of the Bliss Hospice Volunteer Team may be a fit for you.

Bliss Hospice provides compassionate care for those on their 'end of life' journey. Our Volunteer Team is an engaged part of the amazing care we give to patients and their families. Through our one on one visits, music assisted therapies, art assisted therapies, pet assisted therapies, crafters, and others, we strive to make friends and create smiles.

Bliss Hospice provides care to much of most of Maricopa County, serving patients, including many military Veterans, in their own homes, assisted living homes, and nursing homes.

We currently have opportunities in the following areas:

• Visiting patients one on one (talking, socialization, puzzles, crafts, etc.)
• Music (playing guitar, piano, etc.)
• Art (group art sessions - coloring, basic painting, etc.)
• Pets (therapy dogs, bunnies, mini horses, mini donkeys)

Minimum requirements:

• At least 16 years old (or can Volunteer w/ someone over 18)
• Have own transportation to get to and from visits

All Volunteers are required to receive/complete:

• Application
• Background check
• Fingerprint Clearance Card
• 3-hour training (in-person)
