SET UP TECHNICIAN-3rd SHIFT (COMAC)

About the role

As a Set Up Technician in our Machining department, you'll help ensure our customers receive conforming product by supporting continuous machining operations and driving strong performance in quality, throughput, and safety.

What you'll do

• Review scheduled lines daily and confirm priorities.

• Perform machine start-up following established procedures.

• Support dimensional, surface finish, gauging, poka-yoke, and other quality requirements; respond to Quality Control and team concerns.

• Set and adjust machine offsets; complete tool changes; and perform fixture alignments as needed.

• Evaluate tool samples to verify suitability and performance.

• Verify work holding for proper function and reliability.

• Drive continuous improvement focused on safety, OEE, rework reduction, and team effectiveness.

• Coordinate with Set Up Technicians and Group Leaders on other shifts to ensure smooth shift handoffs.

• Respond to downtime by identifying root cause, implementing corrective actions when possible, and escalating issues to the Shift Manager as needed.

• Monitor EPH; support output recovery and assist team members through retraining or other methods to meet production targets.

• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance according to scheduled work hours and assigned overtime.

• Follow all safety rules, including proper use of required PPE.

• Follow Environmental Policy and Quality Policy guidelines.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment in accordance with established Gibbs 7-S guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have the following education, experience, and capabilities:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1+ year CNC operator experience; 6+ months performing CNC and lathe adjustments; robotic training preferred.
