Job Summary
Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor and general direction of a classroom teacher specialist or support provider, assists in providing academic behavior and social-emotional supports to an individual or small groups of students to enhance learning. Monitors and reports students progress according to state standards, classroom objectives, and the individualized education program (IEP), including health and/or behavioral plans. Provides support to students with severe behavioral and/or physical disabilities, including students with multiple handicaps, emotional disturbances, and severe orthopedic, visual, or hearing impairments.

Comments and Other Information
Graduation from High School or equivalent and experience in working with children. Must have an ability and willingness to work with a range of student severe disabilities. Must have taken and passed the basic skills assessment, have 48 semester units or complete at least two years of study at an institute of higher education obtaining an Associates or higher degree. Must be willing and able to be trained in behavior management strategies to de-escalate and intervene in crisis situations. Must have valid First Aid and CPR certification.
