POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
This position reports to the CAC/LCRC Coordinator. This position has the general responsibility for providing direct services to survivors and secondary survivors of sexual assault/abuse. This includes during exams, forensic interviews, scheduled appointments, and our 24 hour hotline and on-call schedule. This position is responsible for providing services that meet the needs of survivors (both children and adults), constituents, and the community in compliance with program standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Direct service to survivors of sexual assault/abuse
- Case Coordination
- Coordination and facilitation of support groups
- Prison outreach
- Direct Service: Responsibilities include providing crisis intervention, support, psycho-education, referral and linkage to community resources and advocacy to survivors and secondary survivors of sexual assault/abuse of all ages. These services are provided during forensic exams, forensic interviews (both on and off-site), and scheduled appointments. Is also responsible for adhering to strict confidentiality and anonymity when dealing with clients/ survivors.
- Legal Education/Advocacy: will provide support to survivors during interviews, court hearings, and throughout the legal process. Will provide education on the court process/legal proceedings, their rights and responsibilities and linkage to Victims Compensation, VINE, etc.
- Advocacy on the 24 - hour hotline: will provide advocacy on the hotline and perform on-call duties. Note: this position does require availability for on-call.
- Case Coordination: Responsibilities include working within a multi-disciplinary team, case tracking and documentation, and referral and linkage to community resources.
- Support Groups: Responsibilities include scheduling, screening, coordination of curriculum, and the facilitation of support groups for survivors of sexual assault.
- Prison Outreach: Responsibilities include keeping current on inmates' rights and responsibilities, attending facility meetings and coordination of services.
- Other Duties as Assigned - Community Education: will facilitate prevention curriculums.
- Has / Maintains a good on-time and attendance record.

- Direct service to co-survivors of sexual abuse/assault

- Documentation: Timely, accurate, appropriate to case flow.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following: a working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients' rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues. Must exhibit sensitivity to different cultures and must demonstrate an understanding of the intersection of gender, race, ethnicity, disability, religion, or other identity factors in issues of sexual violence.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- A great deal of time is spent in an office environment or presenting before large groups.
- The employee will have frequent client contact either in person or on the phone and will represent Sexual Assault Services and Riveon Mental Health and Recovery in the community.
- The employee must have good speaking and language skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors in Social Work or related field required.
- An Associate's Degree in Social Work or related field may be considered with previous work experience working children and/or adults who have experienced sexual assault/abuse.
- Strong written and oral skills are necessary.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
- Certification through the Ohio Advocate Network preferred.
- Previous crisis intervention and diversity training desired.
- The necessity for travel requires that the employee possess a valid Ohio driver's license, have proof of automobile insurance, and use of a personal vehicle.
- Favorable references and/or evaluations are required.
