Description
Morgan Corp. is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Shareholder Services team. In this role, you will support the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial information that serves as the foundation for key financial, tax, and administrative decisions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of critical financial data.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain multiple general ledgers
· Perform monthly close and financial reporting tasks
· Prepare financial statements on an entity basis including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows
· Oversee cash management including reconciliations and cash flow management
· Provide budgeting and cash flow projections
· Process accounts payable
· Process accounts receivable
· Perform accounting for brokerage accounts
· Research and resolve issues or discrepancies identified as a result of reconciliation procedures
· Assist third party tax provider with quarterly estimated tax calculations and make quarterly tax payments
· Prepare data for and review annual tax returns
· Coordinate with external professionals (CPA firms, Attorneys, etc.)
· Maintain, improve, and document processes and controls
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
· 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance
· Ability to maintain a chart of accounts and the general ledger
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
