We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Administrator to support a major intranet modernization and governance initiative within a Microsoft 365 environment.
This role will help redesign and optimize SharePoint Online into a scalable, secure, and sustainable enterprise collaboration platform. The consultant will play a key role in future-state SharePoint architecture, governance framework, Hub Site strategy, and departmental collaboration structure while enabling business users and site owners across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document the current SharePoint Online environment
- Design and implement enterprise SharePoint architecture and governance standards
- Develop Hub Site and Team Site strategy aligned to organizational departments and business functions
- Establish best practices for:
- Site provisioning
- Navigation
- Metadata
- Permissions and security
- Content lifecycle management
- Data governance
- Create a scalable intranet experience for employee communication and collaboration
- Partner with IT leadership, data teams, customer experience stakeholders, and department site owners
- Enable decentralized site ownership while maintaining centralized governance standards
- Support implementation and migration/reorganization activities as needed
- Develop documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Deliver training and enablement sessions for business site owners and administrators
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of hands-on SharePoint Online administration and architecture experience
- Strong Microsoft 365 collaboration platform expertise
- Proven experience designing:
SharePoint Hub Sites
Enterprise intranet environments
Information architecture frameworks
Governance and security models - Experience with:
Microsoft Teams integration
SharePoint permissions and access controls
Content organization and metadata strategy
Site lifecycle management
User adoption and enablement - Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
Preferred (Optional):
- Experience supporting public sector, transportation, infrastructure, or highly operational organizations
- Microsoft certifications in SharePoint or Microsoft 365 technologies
- Familiarity with compliance, records management, and data governance practices
- Experience balancing centralized IT governance with business-unit flexibility

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $60 – $70 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
