Position Overview
The Sharepoint Administrator is responsible for the management of the company Intranet, which consists of various roles such as design, development, administration, and support. Maintains the Intranet in adherence to intranet governance policies, in alignment with the overall strategies of the library.
Essential Functions:
- Manages SharePoint environment including site provisioning, site templates, user permissions.
- Adheres to Intranet Governance policies to ensure secure configuration, and both visual and navigational consistency.
- Create and manage SharePoint sites, lists, forms, and webparts.
- Create and manage SharePoint Team sites.
- Use various SharePoint development tools such as InfoPath, Sharegate, etc., as necessary.
- Migrate existing classic sites to modern sites. Coordinate with sub-site owners to confirm functionality of site components on new site.
- Support users, sub-site owners, and other technical staff as required.
- Coordinate the preparation of training materials for SharePoint solutions.
- Coordinate communication of major/minor enhancements, bug-fixes. Collaborate with other support staff to ensure seamless rollout of new functionality.
- Coordinates with management to advise, design, or develop solutions to business functions as required by manager.
- Determines and implements various testing methods to ensure system performance meets or exceeds library expectations.
- Plans for orderly updates to ensure a high level of business continuity.
- Provides system reporting and documentation as required.
- Adhere to governing policies, guiding principles, industry standards, and best practices.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Periodically performs installation, upgrade and maintenance work on technology outside of normal working hours to minimize downtime to customers.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining test environments, and participating in professional organizations.
- Provides technical support to staff with general IT related issues and services.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree - computer related fields, or equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities - Required
- Minimum 4 years - Experience in information technology, with administrative or design experience in SharePoint or other intranet platforms - Required
- Previous experience in Sharepoint administration, design, development, testing, deployment, site migration and search features - Preferred
- Additional Technical certifications I.e., Microsoft, or other industry certifications- Preferred

Technology including specific applications, hardware, and coding languages:
Advanced knowledge of SharePoint/SharePoint Online.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment and applications.
Strong knowledge of PowerShell.
Working knowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
Strong knowledge of modern on-prem and cloud security practices and protocols including SSL, TLS, SAML, Kerberos.
Strong knowledge of operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Windows Server.
Fundamental knowledge of server hardware, software, applications and their functions (e.g., servers, storage systems, data backup and recovery)
Fundamental knowledge of HTML / CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
Comfortable translating technical terms for non-technical staff and customers. Leaves a perception of a professional and friendly IT department.

Work Environment:
- Works primarily indoors with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and must have a reasonable tolerance for dust, mold, scents, allergens, and communicable diseases which enables the employee to handle library materials, work in older buildings and interact with coworkers and the public.
