  • Apply SMACNA standards and industry best practices to estimating and fabrication.
  • Identify constructability concerns, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, project management, and estimating teams.
  • Assist in developing competitive project pricing and bid strategies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC or sheet metal industry experience (fabrication experience preferred).
  • Experience estimating commercial sheet metal and ductwork projects.
  • Strong knowledge of duct systems, airflow principles, pressure classes, fabrication methods, and sheet metal materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
  • Experience with Trimble or similar estimating/takeoff software preferred.
  • Familiarity with SMACNA standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience pricing projects from conceptual or incomplete design documents.
  • Design-assist or conceptual estimating experience.
  • Ability to interpret early design intent and develop complete project scope.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound estimating assumptions when project information is limited.
