Description Repairing and maintaining sheet-metal components for mechanical and electronic systems, ensuring strict adherence to performance standards. Applying advanced techniques such as welding, cutting, and bending to fabricate custom sheet-metal parts in alignment with design specifications. Conducting inspections and quality checks on sheet-metal assemblies and components to identify defects or ensure compliance with standards. Collaborating with technical teams to implement modifications or upgrades on sheet-metal systems to support project needs. Preparing technical documentation and maintaining records of repair and fabrication activities to ensure traceability and compliance with DoD requirements.

Requirements ----------------

  • Four or more years of experience in a sheet-metal worker role
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated ability to design, fabricate, and repair sheet-metal components for mechanical and electronic systems, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and DoD standards
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics for precise cutting, bending, and assembly of sheet-metal materials
  • Proficiency in utilizing advanced equipment such as power rollers, presses, and welding tools for maintenance and repair operations
  • Possess an active DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Skills ----------------

  • Familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to aid in customization and adjustments during fabrication
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems involving sheet-metal components in operational environments
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including engineering and manufacturing departments, for repair and maintenance initiatives
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and process control standards for sheet-metal fabrication and maintenance processes

Clearance Information -------------------

SRC is a contractor for the U.S. government, this position will require U.S. citizenship as well as, a U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level.
