A bit about us:

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal components while ensuring products meet quality, safety, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading skills, experience operating fabrication equipment, and takes pride in producing high quality work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Job Details

Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine material requirements and fabrication methods.
Measure, mark, cut, bend, form, and shape sheet metal using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
Set up and operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, rollers, punches, saws, and other sheet metal machinery.
Perform MIG and TIG welding as required to assemble fabricated components.
Install hardware such as rivets, fasteners, hinges, latches, and brackets.
Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend process improvements.
Perform layout work and verify measurements using calipers, tape measures, squares, and other precision instruments.
Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
Follow all OSHA, company safety policies, and proper PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and housekeeping standards.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
Assist with prototype builds, custom fabrication, and production improvements as needed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
3+ years of sheet metal fabrication or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
Experience operating sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Welding experience with MIG and TIG preferred.
Knowledge of sheet metal layout, forming, bending, and fabrication techniques.
Ability to use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and angle gauges.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and geometry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
