We are looking for an energetic Shift Lead who loves developing people, creating great customer experiences, and leading by example. As a Shift Lead, you'll support our culture from while coaching baristas and keeping operations running smoothly. This is more than a shift lead position. We're looking for future managers. Our kiosk environment is small, fast-paced, and highly team-oriented. Every team member plays an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Help build a positive, accountable, and energetic team culture
• Lead, coach, and support a team of baristas during assigned shifts
• Coach, encourage, and hold team members accountable to performance and service standards
• Assist the Store Manager with onboarding, training, and development of new team members
• Develop effective working relationships with team members and contribute to a positive work environment

Store Operations

• Help ensure smooth daily operations in a high-volume drive-thru coffee kiosk
• Ensure fast service times, drink quality, and operational consistency
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards at all times
• Ensure brand standards are upheld
• Execute cash handling, point-of-sale system, and operational procedures accurately and consistently
• Serve as a keyholder, following all opening, closing, and security procedures
• Assist with inventory management, stocking, and organization as directed by the Store Manager

Customer Experience

• Deliver exceptional experiences and create genuine customer connections
• Resolve customer concerns quickly, professionally, and with a positive attitude
• Help create a welcoming environment for customers and team members alike

Qualifications

Required

• Previous shift lead, team lead, trainer, or supervisory experience in a retail, restaurant, or customer service environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
• Ability to remain calm, make decisions, and solve problems under pressure
• Comfortable providing feedback and holding team members accountable
• Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
• Ability to teach others and communicate expectations clearly
• Dependable transportation and ability to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts

Preferred

• Experience opening or closing a business
• Experience training new employees
• Current Food Manager certification
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Schedule Requirements

·       Full-time position averaging 35–40 hours per week

·       Scooter's Coffee is open weekdays from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, weekends from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM

·       Shift Leads must be available to work a variety of shifts, including opening, mid-day, and closing shifts

·       Availability for weekends and holidays is required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work in a compact, fast-paced drive-thru environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout a shift
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors during varying Texas weather conditions
