Shift Lead - Pizza Restaurant
Penmac Staffing is hiring a part-time Shift Lead for a busy pizza restaurant in the Eldon area. This leadership position is ideal for someone with restaurant experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leading a team, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Shift Lead will oversee daily operations, maintain food quality standards, and help create a positive experience for both customers and employees.
Requirements for the Shift Lead
- Previous restaurant, food service, shift lead, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions during assigned shifts
- Experience handling cash and operating a POS system preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and food preparation practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable attendance and ability to work evenings and weekends
Shift Lead Responsibilities
- Open and close the restaurant independently
- Complete opening and closing checklists and ensure all equipment is properly started or shut down
- Verify dough, sauce, cheese, toppings, and other prep items are ready for service
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure food-safety standards are followed
- Serve as the person in charge during assigned shifts
- Direct and supervise employees, including high school team members
- Assign workstations and adjust staffing during busy periods
- Manage ticket flow through the Kitchen Display System (KDS)
- Prepare pizzas, sandwiches, strombolis, and other menu items according to company recipes and standards
- Monitor food quality, portioning, consistency, and presentation
- Assist in all positions as needed, including food preparation, oven operation, customer service, and cashier duties
- Operate the Square Point of Sale (POS) system
- Handle cash drawers, register reconciliation, refunds, and remakes within established guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked restaurant
- Enforce sanitation, food storage, labeling, and closing procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs
- Help control labor costs during shifts and adjust staffing as business needs change
- Secure cash, equipment, doors, lights, and alarm systems at closing
Schedule and Pay
- Part-time
- 24 to 30 hours per week
- Wednesday through Sunday
- Pay: $21.00 per hour
