Description AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced

The cooperative’s award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers

In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: + All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority

+ This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities

+ Sampling and receiving of bulk milk

Must be licensed by SDDA to sample milk + Must be able to obtain and maintain CIS certification

+ Confirm quality tests on raw milk in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines

+ Ensure all policies and procedures for the PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) are followed

+ CIP tankers, receiving lines, and storage silos

+ Ensure all recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations

+ Ability to drive trucks in and out of receiving bay as needed

+ Performing preventative maintenance and master sanitation tasks

+ Keep floors, drain troughs, and drain pits properly cleaned

+ Constantly look for continuous improvement and process improvement and communicate

+ Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment and supplies in your work areas

+ Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping + Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies

+ Assists with training new employees; + Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting; + Responsible for meeting department goals and objectives including scheduling, managing the working hours including OT, appraisals and disciplinary concerns

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: + High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
