A Happy Home is hiring a full-time Shift Lead for our group home in Orem, UT. We support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and our Shift Leads keep each shift running smoothly: guiding the caregiving team, keeping the home's routine on track, and making sure care and documentation are done right.

Shift Leadership
  • Serve as the on-site point person and lead the caregiving team on your shift.
  • Attend daily pre-shift briefings and pass along house updates, events, and important information.
  • Conduct walk-throughs at shift start and end to make sure the home is clean, secure, and ready for the individuals we serve.
  • Make sure individuals and staff complete assigned chores according to the home chore list.
  • Help train new staff through shadow shifts and documentation review.
  • Report concerns, incidents, and staffing needs to the House Manager and Assistant House Manager.
Routine & Care
  • Follow the home's established daily routine, including cleaning, meals, showers, medication administration, activities, and wake/bedtime schedules.
  • Administer medications according to the "Six Rights" of Medication Administration, contacting management or the pharmacy when needed.
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene, laundry, and activities of daily living.
  • Oversee arrivals and departures, escort individuals to and from transportation, and conduct one-on-one community outings.
Documentation & Safety
  • Make sure ADLs and daily documentation are completed with proper detail before staff leave shift.
  • Complete incident reports (IRs) and notify management promptly.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and report minor maintenance needs.
Qualifications
  • Paid experience as a caregiver, DSP, CNA, med tech, or similar role; lead or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to get certified.
  • Medication administration experience preferred.
  • Dependable, organized, and a clear communicator.
