Position Summary:

The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Shift Lead works alongside the Bakery Operator and team members to create the highest-quality cakes, a warm, welcoming environment, and superior guest experience. The Shift Lead shares in team leadership and collaborates with the Bakery Operator in driving sales and profitability, executing day-to-day responsibilities and ensuring that all aspects of the bakery operation comply with NbC standards. This role serves as an important carrier of the NbC culture to reinforce core values and bring our brand to life for our team members and guests.

Accountabilities/Duties:

• Delivers a strong guest experience by providing friendly, efficient service and supporting team engagement during shifts.
• Supports day-to-day bakery operations, including guest service, cake production, merchandising, and cleanliness.
• Assists with training new team members and provides guidance and support during shifts.
• Delegates tasks during shifts, ensuring team members understand priorities and expectations.
• Maintains product quality and service standards, ensuring compliance with food safety and company policies.
• Helps execute daily operational tasks such as stocking, basic inventory checks, and shift goals.
• Assists with fulfilling guest orders, including special orders and pickups.
• Participates in opening and closing procedures, including register handling and basic cash accountability.
• Maintains hands-on knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in regularly to perform various responsibilities as business needs dictate.

Education, Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in retail, restaurant, or food service, preferably with some leadership or team lead responsibilities.
• A valid driver’s license is required due to the driving responsibilities associated with this role.
• Foodservice safety training certificate (or required to obtain within 30 days of employment).
• Basic comfort with technology and POS systems.

Work Availability:

Must have flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, based on changing business demands.
