Shift Lead - VATP (Shorefair)

The Shift Lead - VATP (Shorefair) plays a key role in supporting the daily logistics operations at Alliance One North America's Shorefair facility, located at a customer site in Winston-Salem, NC. This facility operates 24/7, with peak activity during weekday day shifts and lighter operations overnight and on weekends.

Shift Leads are responsible for coordinating hourly team members during their assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate shipping and receiving processes. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to dynamic operational needs. All Shift Leads must be lift driver qualified to support flexible coverage and rotation

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations
• Prior experience in a lead or team coordination role preferred
• Forklift/lift driver certification required (or ability to obtain)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence

Team Coordination

• Lead and guide hourly employees during assigned shift

• Assign tasks and monitor performance to meet operational goals

• Support onboarding and training of new team members

Shipping & Receiving Operations

• Oversee loading, unloading, and movement of goods

• Ensure proper documentation and handling of shipments

• Communicate with Supervisor regarding shift progress and issues

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce safety protocols and report incidents

• Ensure compliance with company policies and customer requirements

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Flexibility & Coverage

• Rotate across functions and shifts as needed

• Operate lift equipment to support team coverage

• Respond to changing schedules and truck arrivals

Availability

• Work onsite Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM ET, or 6:30 PM-6:30 AM ET

• Work onsite Friday-Sunday, 6:30 AM-6:30 PM ET, or 6:30 PM-6:30 AM ET

• Remain available on-call 24/7 to support operational continuity

Security Clearance

This position requires successful completion of CBP Form 3078 to obtain a CBP Security Area Identification Card. Candidates must be eligible for clearance and willing to undergo a background investigation conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
