Job description

I. Purpose of Position

The Shift Leader oversees all Restaurant activities during their shift, ensuring smooth restaurant operations. The shift leader interacts with guests, supervises staff, handles cash management, and maintains cleanliness and safety. The Shift Leader works hands-on, provides training to others, and resolves issues promptly while enforcing policies and procedures.

II. Key Responsibilities

• Understands the impact of job responsibilities on Guests, Team, and Restaurant Operations.

• Directs team and ensures all food items are prepared and served in accordance with all Brand, Company, and health department regulations. Coaches team members to follow guidelines for food preparation and production management.

• Interacts with guests and resolves concerns promptly and effectively.

• Treats employees with respect and recognition.

• Ensures cash handling procedures are followed by others.

• Adheres to food and cash control guidelines.

• Maintains cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards to uphold brand image.

• Plans and executes shift operations efficiently.

• Follows company guidelines for cost control and resource utilization.

• Leads with empathy, fairness, and a focus on teamwork.

• Applies financial understanding to improve business decisions.

• Manages shift activities for operational excellence.

• Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations.

• Supports the success of the business hands-on, whether by preparing food, serving guests, cleaning the store, or performing other duties.

III. Education, Background, and Skill Requirements

• At least 3 years of restaurant experience.

• Strong leadership skills, including leading by example and remaining calm and professional in challenging situations.

• Fast learner, and willingness to learn all areas of restaurant operations & work multiple stations.

• Ability to display a positive attitude and a genuine desire to make others happy and serve one another.

• Exhibits a sense of urgency

• Strong communication skills.

• Must be available and willing to work a variety of days/times, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• Fluency in both English and Mandarin.
