Position Summary




The Shift Manager is responsible for leading daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent guest experience, strong team performance, and efficient execution of all Your Pie standards. This role acts as the “in-the-moment” leader—setting the tone for hospitality, speed, cleanliness, and food quality.






Key Responsibilities





Team Leadership




  • Lead and motivate team members during shifts
  • Assign positions and manage shift flow (line, oven, register, expo)
  • Coach team members on performance, attitude, and execution
  • Hold team accountable to Your Pie standards and expectations
  • Step in and work alongside team during peak periods





Guest Experience




  • Deliver a top-tier guest experience every shift
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally
  • Ensure accuracy, speed, and friendliness at all stations
  • Build relationships with regular customers and local community





Operations & Execution




  • Execute opening, shift change, and closing procedures
  • Ensure food quality, portioning, and presentation standards are met
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant
  • Monitor ticket times and keep kitchen running efficiently
  • Ensure all safety and food handling procedures are followed





Financial & Inventory Awareness




  • Help control food cost through proper portioning and waste reduction
  • Assist with inventory counts and product rotation (FIFO)
  • Manage labor during shift (adjust staffing based on volume)
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss





Training & Development




  • Help train new hires on systems, recipes, and culture
  • Reinforce Your Pie standards and brand expectations
  • Identify strong team members for growth opportunities





Qualifications




  • Previous restaurant or shift leadership experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)





Physical Requirements




  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
