Shift Manager Maintenance

Location Eveleth MNCleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for Shift Manager Maintenance at United Taconite LLC in Eveleth MN. As a Shift Manager you will direct and coordinate safe maintenance at the Mine. You will be responsible for coordinating daily activities in the operation site supervising hourly crews and improving overall efficiency by proper utilization of the resources and all their components. You will ensure the reliability of the mechanical equipment through preventative maintenance and directing maintenance personnel as needed in response to breakdowns.Summary of ResponsibilitiesSchedules routine activities. Supervises completion of work assignments and follows established department plansMaintains general discipline of the crew in meeting the daily production safety and quality objectives. Instructs personnel in job requirements company rules and practicesCoordinates production and maintenance activities with different departments assists in developing continuous improvement plansMonitors sites operation adheres to safety environmental quality and productivity performance standards and performs regular auditsLeads employees training and performance review programs. Improves overall production processes and services efficiencyOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications2-year degree in technical field or equivalent.3-5 years recent experience at a miningmineral processing facility or heavy industry preferably in a unionized environment.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required. Willingness to promote team concepts and company policies. Ability to motivate delegate establish and work in a collaborative environment.Preferred QualificationsBachelors DegreeMust be able to work rotating shifts weekends and holidays to ensure 24-hour coverage 7 days per week. Regular attendance is an essential requirement. Must be able to physically perform all these responsibilities safely walk on uneven surfaces climb equipment operate pickup and other small fleet vehicles etc.The salary range for this role is 80000 to 105000.  An employees pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications experience skills geographic location and business or organizational needs. Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
