Location Cleveland OHCleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Maintenance Evening Shift 300pm - 1100pm position at the Cleveland OH facility. This front-line supervisory role is responsible for managing the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities within the respective areas of responsibility to ensure a reliable safe and continuously improved operation.The Shift Manager serves as a key link between operations and maintenance teams and leadership supporting safe efficient and reliable operations within a 247 manufacturing environment.Summary of ResponsibilitiesManage the maintenance of mechanical equipment and provide day-to-day supervision of Maintenance Technician Mechanics MTMs within the assigned departmentareaDevelop expertise in mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and water systems within the assigned areaLead daily safety interactions and reinforce safe work practices in all maintenance activitiesEnsure maintenance activities are performed in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirementsCoach develop and hold employees accountable ensuring they have the tools training and knowledge to perform work safely and effectivelyManage assigned maintenance spending and budgets using strong project management skills and a thorough understanding of equipment maintenance processesCollaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing Operations Maintenance Op TechContinuous Improvement Accounting Engineering Vendors Suppliers and counterparts at other facilitiesDevelop and execute maintenance strategies to ensure high levels of equipment reliabilityThis position has a fixed schedule Evening Shift 300 PM - 1100 PM. While assigned to a fixed evening shift this role operates within a 247 manufacturing environment and must respond effectively to changing operational priorities.Perform other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHS Diploma GED or equivalent from an accredited school2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturingindustrial environment or the military.Must be able to work in a hot dusty environment including climbing stairs ladders and walking inclines. Also able to workwalk safely on uneven surfaces and outdoors in all weather.Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisPreferred QualificationsBachelors Degree from an accredited educational institution in Mechanical Engineering or related field3 years of mechanical maintenance experience2 years of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturingindustrial operation or the militaryExperience working in a Steel millExperience working with a unionized workforceExperience working with a computer-based PM andor equipment reliability programRelocation assistance is not provided for this position.The salary range for this role is 70000 to 110000.
