The Shift Manager Mechanical Maintenance is a front-line supervisory position that is responsible for managing the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities within the respective areas of responsibility to ensure a reliable safe and continually improved operation.Summary of ResponsibilitiesManaging the maintenance of mechanical equipment and providing the day-to-day supervision of the Maintenance Technician Mechanics MTM within assigned departmentareaDevelop into a maintenance expert for the maintenance systems within assigned areaAct as a coach to employees and ensure that they have the tools and knowledge required to safely perform their jobManage spending budget using project management skills and a thorough understanding of the processes needed to properly maintain the equipment within assigned areaInteract with Purchasing Operations Maintenance Op TechContinuous Improvement Accounting Engineering Vendors and Suppliers and counterparts from other plantsDevelop a maintenance strategy that would ensure a high level of equipment reliabilityWeekends and shift work may be requiredOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHS Diploma GED or equivalent from an accredited school2 yrs. of mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturingindustrial environment or the military.Must be able to work in a hot dusty environment including climbing stairs ladders and walking inclines.
