Location Ishpeming MICleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager Operations at our Tilden Mine site. This position prioritizes assigns directs and reviews work of Plant Concentrator Operators and the control room based on standard work and process conditions across the facility.Summary of ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate safe work practices and lead work safely.Gather information from previous supervisors and crew and use information to create a shift plan.Plan and prioritize work assignments from the weekly work order packet on a daily basis.Perform shift toolbox meeting communicating shift plan task assignments shift operating parameters and any special tasks required.Monitor and inspect the quality of completed work assignments.Complete shift inspection of crew member areas inspecting the quality and completeness of work assignments.Write and close out work orders for crew ensuring job hours are accurately reflected to tasks assigned.Ensure start and stop times are accurately reflected for payroll.Document shift performance for crew work achieved and key process parameters for handover to other operating personnel.Understand significant deviations from the departments operating plan and make changes to correct and implement sustainable solutions to deviations.Elevate deviations to the manager that cannot be corrected at supervisor level. Plan and prioritize work assignments from the weekly work order packet on a daily basis.Collaborate with other supervisors to minimize variation between shifts and implement best practices.Administer corporate site and departmental policies consistently and impartially.Make recommendations on quality improvement initiatives communicate the priority of process improvement work to subordinates and monitor that the process improvement work is completed.Coordinate plans projects and programs to achieve the desired performance results in safety quality production cost and environmental performance.Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.3-5 years of experience in heavy industrial environment preferably steel hydrocarbon or mining environmentExperience overseeing leading and coaching people.Microsoft Office experience Excel Word etc.Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage multiplechanging priorities.Computerized Maintenance Management System CMMS experience Ellipse preferred.Reasonable mechanical aptitudeEffectively communicate both orally and through written textAbility to read and constructively influence personnel in team processes.Occasionally lifting up to 25lbsMobility required. Must be able to handle stairs and long periods of work on your feet.Routinely exposed to plant environment including noise dust dirt vibrations and extreme climate changes changes in weatherAbility to work at heights.Willing to work shift work.Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Preferred QualificationsPreferably previous work in steel hydrocarbon or mining environment.Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
