Job Summary

Shift: Night Job type: Full Time

The Multi-Specialty Shift Manager (Registered Nurse) is responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled, high quality patient care; for assisting in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practice in accordance with the Mission of Doctors Hospital and Critical Care Services. He/she demonstrates a high degree of critical thinking, technical skill, initiative, integrity, accuracy and compassionate nursing care in an interdisciplinary practice.

The Shift Manager assists the Department Director in providing direction in the development and evaluation of nursing personnel, and in maintaining operations of the patient care unit. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care acting as resource for clinical issues involving the plan of care. Contributes to nursing and hospital mission through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts and research efforts. He/she performs as a peer role model for professional behavior and in demonstrating superior expertise in the delivery of nursing care, and oversight of all functions of the department during assigned shift. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.A./B.S.M.A./M.S.
  • License/Certifications: Active California R.N. license, Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire and PALS within 1 year of hire. Proficient in cardiac arrhythmia interpretation. National Certification required for Shift Manager III and IV. (Shift Manger II can have either BSN or National Certification).
  • Experience: 1-2 years Managerial Experience
