    Pay - $21.29 per hour
    Please Note:  Our Donation Centers are open 9 to 5 pm daily. This supervisory position is full-time and will require open availability (including weekends).

    Goodwill of Colorado is seeking versatile and adaptable candidates with experience to become our Shift Supervisors.  Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, production, manufacturing, warehousing or similar industries is preferred for this position.     JOB SUMMARY:

    The Shift Supervisor, Stand Alone Attended Donation Center (ADC), is responsible for providing high-level operational leadership across all aspects of the ADC. This role ensures the efficient and safe handling of donated goods, supervises staff, maintains customer service standards, and supports the mission of Goodwill of Colorado through effective team and task management.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Employee Leadership:

    • Provide leadership, training, and support to all subordinates/staff.
    • Manage breaks and redirect staff/work teams to ensure operational coverage.
    • Coach employees and collaborate with management on performance evaluations.
    • Coaches’ employees verbally and provides input to management on employee disciplinary actions and terminations. 
    • Ensure continuity of operations and open communication across all levels.
    • Provides excellent Customer service, greeting customers in a timely manner, answering product questions as needed.
    • Assists every customer by unloading donations from vehicle or other areas.
    • Ensure that donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
    • Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or to be shipped to other locations.
    • Ensures a safe, organized, and clean environment is maintained for both customers and fellow employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
    • Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailer, if applicable, while following appropriate opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site. 
    • Ensure supplies are kept well stocked at remote site, as necessary.
    • Tracks and reports on donation levels daily to ensure trailers do not become over stocked when working in remote donation center locations.
    • Timely communication when donation warehouse and/or trailer(s) are becoming full and a truck is needed.

    Operational Oversight:

    • Oversee loading/unloading of trucks.
    • Ensure accurate sorting and safe handling of donated goods.
    • Maintain a work-ready environment and assign tasks throughout the day.
    • Assist in inventory processes including counting and verification.
    • Ensure proper use and certification of equipment such as pallet jacks, walkie stackers, and forklifts.
    • Maintain operational knowledge to manage the ADC in absence of senior management.
    • Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

    Customer Focus:

    • Serve as the first escalation point for customer complaints.
    • Oversees customer service standards are meeting business objectives.
    • Act as point of contact for donation acceptance decisions.

    Training and Development:

    • Adheres to training guidelines, monitors and assist in training employees, including those with disabilities.
    • Ensure cross-training and proficiency in ADC procedures.

    Administrative Duties:

    • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ensures accuracy of records and reports of donation count daily.
    • Communicate pertinent information to management.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum six (6) months of proven supervisory experience.
    • Two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred.

    Other:

    • Strong work ethic, self-starter, problem-solver, and team player.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
    • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.  
    • Ability to train and work with diverse teams.
    • Proficient in the utilization of office equipment, office software (i.e. Word, Excel) and web-based applications (i.e. UKG,) to meet the needs of employees and the organization. 
    • Ability to manage corporate email and calendar (i.e. Outlook).
    • Able to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification to safely operate equipment.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow organizational policies.
    • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day. 
    • Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
    • Must be able to work in various outside weather conditions with varying outside temperatures*.
