Location: Assigned Florida shelter site · Type: Temporary, emergency deployment · Reports to: Shelter Manager
Summary: Supports the Shelter Manager by leading shelter staff on an assigned shift to ensure all shelter needs are addressed.
Responsibilities
Lead General Shelter Workers and Pet Support Staff during an assigned 12-hour or 8-hour shift.
Brief incoming staff at shift change and hand off open issues to the next supervisor.
Monitor registration, dormitory, feeding and sanitation activities; resolve resident concerns and conflicts.
Track staff attendance, hours and sign-in sheets for timekeeping.
Escalate safety, medical or security issues to the Shelter Manager and on-site security.
Carry out duties the Shelter Manager delegates, including overnight supervision.
Qualifications
2+ years in social services or health care, including lead or supervisory experience.
Shelter or disaster response experience preferred.
FEMA IS-100 and IS-700 required.
Physical and deployment requirements: Able to lift 20 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods and work 12-hour day or night shifts in extreme heat or inclement weather; must pass Level 1 background screening.
