Ship Prep Technician 
The Ship Prep Technician is responsible for preparing fabricated equipment, piping systems, and modules for shipment to customer sites. This role ensures all components are properly cleaned, inspected, protected, and documented prior to loading and transport, supporting safe and accurate delivery of finished products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare completed fabrication assemblies, piping, and equipment for shipment
  • Clean, inspect, and verify components prior to final packaging and load-out
  • Apply protective coatings, caps, wrapping, and rust prevention materials as required
  • Ensure all items match shipping lists, drawings, and project documentation
  • Assist with staging equipment for loading onto trucks or transport trailers
  • Coordinate with QC, fabrication, and logistics teams to confirm shipment readiness
  • Label and tag materials for proper identification and traceability
  • Support final walkdowns and punch list completion before shipment release
  • Maintain organization of the shipping and staging areas
  • Follow all safety procedures during material handling and load-out operations

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in a fabrication shop, shipping/receiving, or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with piping systems, structural steel, or oil & gas equipment (preferred)
  • Ability to read basic drawings, packing lists, and work instructions
  • Experience using hand tools and material handling equipment (forklifts, rigging knowledge a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control awareness
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production and deadline-driven environment

Work Environment:
 
  • Industrial fabrication shop with exposure to heavy equipment, noise, and outdoor load-out areas
  • Requires PPE including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hard hat
  • May involve overtime, weekend work, and physical labor
