We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician III to support the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Tactical Integration and Installation (CTII) and Civil Mariner (CIVMAR) programs. This role is focused on the modernization and integration of complex maritime communication and networking systems aboard U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command vessels.


Responsibilities


System Integration:


+ Execute the installation, tear-out, and modernization of shipboard electronic systems, specifically focusing on CTII (CVN 74/75) platforms.


Fiber Optics & Cabling:


+ Perform high-precision termination, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables. Ensure all installations meet rigorous maritime standards and signal integrity requirements.


Technical Execution:


+ Interpret and work from complex NAVSEA drawing packages, Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), and technical manuals to ensure systems are integrated according to specification.


Quality Assurance:


+ Conduct pre-installation and post-installation testing (SOVTs) to verify system functionality and readiness for operational use.


Leadership & Coordination:


+ Act as a senior technical lead on-site, providing guidance to junior technicians and coordinating with ship’s force and program stakeholders to maintain project timelines.


Qualifications


+ Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in shipboard electronic systems installation and maintenance.

+ Proven expertise in the CTII environments, with a deep understanding of maritime network architecture.

+ Must hold current Fiber Optic Installer/Technician certification (NAVSEA 009-73 or equivalent).


Physical Requirements:


+ Ability to work in confined spaces, climb shipboard ladders, and carry up to 50 lbs.
