Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician II to support modernization and installation efforts aboard CVN-74 and CVN-75. This role focuses on the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex shipboard C4ISR and electrical systems, and high-density structured cabling. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience interpreting naval schematics and performing high-precision panel grooming to meet rigorous QA/QC standards in a shipyard environment.

Responsibilities:
  • System Installation: Install and configure C4ISR systems and other critical shipboard electrical components.
  • Cabling & Routing: Execute high-density cable routing and secure pathways for Cat5, D4, and Fiber Optic systems.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to ensure precise system layout.
  • Assembly: Build, wire, and terminate electrical switch panels, multi-pin connectors, and specialized junction boxes.
  • Quality Control: Perform panel grooming and pre-inspection checks to ensure all work meets Navy QA/QC and safety standards.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and shipyard safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Must be US Citizen able to pass customer background check for authorized to work on military bases shipyards.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to obtain Suitability Clearance. 
  • 7+ years of experience as an Electrical/Engineering Technician within industrial or shipyard environments.
  • Proven expertise in structured cabling (Cat5, D4, Fiber), multi-pin connector assembly, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Shipboard Knowledge: Extensive experience working on naval vessels, specifically with cable pathways and electrical panel grooming.
