Northern Iron Foundry in St. Paul is looking for a Shipper/ Forklift Operator.
The Shipper / Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move finished castings, fixtures, and materials throughout the finishing and shipping areas of the foundry. This position supports shipping operations by organizing fixtures, banding pallets, and transporting completed products for shipment.
This role also functions as a general labor position. Employees will be cross-trained in manual finishing operations including parts washing, deburring, spot facing, and light janitorial duties. The position contributes directly to producing quality iron castings used in critical industries such as mining, marine, HVAC, and oil & gas.
What are the hours and pay?- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, additional OT when needed
- Pay: $22.7 per hour
What is the job?- Operate forklift safely to transport parts, fixtures, and materials throughout the facility
- Move finished products to designated shipping areas
- Dump chip dumpsters as required
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of fixture storage areas
- Band pallets and prepare materials for shipment
- Assist with shipping preparation and material handling
- Perform general labor duties including:
- Parts washing
- Deburring
- Spot facing
- Light janitorial and housekeeping tasks
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and PPE requirements
- Maintain quality standards and ensure proper handling of finished parts
- Support team operations and assist in other areas as needed

Work Environment- This position operates in a heavy industrial iron foundry environment with exposure to: Heat, Dust, Noise and Moving machinery and powered industrial equipment
- Employees must comply with all safety requirements and always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment safely
- Ability to work in hot and physically demanding conditions
