Shipping & Receiving Assistant

- Pay: $19.00/hour- weekly pay!
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Detroit. If you have strong computer skills, experience in shipping and receiving, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this could be a great fit for you.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping materials moving efficiently by managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and safely operating a hi-lo (forklift). We’re looking for someone who takes pride in staying organized, works well with others, and is ready to jump in wherever needed.
What You'll be doing:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality
- Verify packing slips and purchase orders
- Enter shipment and inventory data into company systems accurately
- Prepare outgoing orders, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating pickups
- Operate a hi-lo/forklift to load and unload materials safely
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving records
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts
- Work closely with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to support daily operations
- Identify and report shortages, damages, or inventory discrepancies
- Keep the warehouse and shipping area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years of shipping & receiving experience
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with ERP systems or shipping software such as UPS WorldShip or FedEx is a plus
- Valid forklift certification with at least 1 year of hi-lo experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk throughout the shift
- Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
