Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Associate responsible for efficiently unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and organizing them in designated areas. The role includes operating an overhead crane to move materials between different cells, ensuring stock is accurately located and moved to pallets or crates for storage or shipment, and identifying any damages or quality deficiencies. You will also utilize an RF scanner and inventory systems for a variety of computer-related tasks. Operating a sit-down forklift is also a key part of this role.
Responsibilities
Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles.
Stack materials in assigned places.
Operate an overhead crane to move materials into different cells.
Locate and move stock to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Utilize RF scanner and inventory systems for various tasks.
Operate a sit-down forklift.
Essential Skills
2+ years of material handling experience.
1+ years of overhead crane experience.
Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift.
Experience with RF scanners and inventory systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with warehouse environment and operations.
Knowledge of shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and inventory control.
Experience with shipping and freight management software.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.26 - $22.26/hr.
