Shipping and Receiving Associate

Position Overview:  

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Receiving Worker to join our team at [Company Name]. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our receiving and shipping processes, particularly in managing oil truck deliveries and supporting various tasks across departments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of performance, contributing to our team's success, and ensuring timely delivery of our commitments.

Responsibilities, Skills, and Experience:  

Oil Truck Management:

• Anticipate and prepare for oil truck deliveries, ensuring a swift and efficient unloading process.
• Proactively manage time throughout the day to support this task.

Break and Lunch Coverage:

• Provide coverage for both Shipping and Receiving departments during breaks and lunches.
• Monitor doors for any incoming shipping or receiving orders during these times

Product Transition Support:

• Assist in bringing received products into production, ensuring a smooth transition and organized process
• Move received products from receiving to shipping, safely storing them in the warehouse

Inventory Assistance:

• Support inventory processes by operating forklifts to bring down products for inspection.
• Assist with all-day or multi-day inventory tasks as required.

Truck Unloading:

• Provide additional help when multiple trucks arrive to ensure efficient unloading and processing.

Order Fulfillment Support:

• Assist the Shipping department on days with high order volumes.
• Provide extra hands during peak workload days to maintain productivity.

Housekeeping and Warehouse Maintenance:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, including keeping floors clean, pallets organized, and replacing dusty slip sheets.
• Contribute to maintaining a tidy, well-organized, and safe warehouse environment.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.  This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. and move heavy objects.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
• Must follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE, when required.

Other Duties:  

• Follow food safety and quality protocols.  
• Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices.  
• Other duties as assigned.
