Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Location: Sacramento, CA Job Duration: 3 months (possible extension) Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay rate: $17.18/hr. on W2 Basic Purpose Responsible for the shipping, receiving, and routing of materials into and out of the Business Unit (BU), including accurate documentation and data entry in the materials management system. Key Duties and Responsibilities Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route incoming and outgoing materials for the facility and remote sites. Enter receipt data into the Materials Management software system. Identify and report discrepancies between received materials and shipping documentation to the Warehouse Manager. Prepare outbound shipments, including all required documentation. Manage the Returned Goods process in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Deliver stock to appropriate staging areas for departmental use. Store inventory in designated locations and ensure proper stock rotation based on receipt and expiration dates. Identify short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life) and report to the Warehouse Manager for action. Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventory activities. Follow all applicable policies and regulations (Materials Management, HR, Safety, Compliance, OSHA, CLIA, etc.). Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements. Assist with order entry, picking, packing, and delivery for internal and external orders. Support record storage, retrieval, and internal/external mail handling as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 6 months of materials management or warehouse experience required. Some data entry experience preferred. Skills & Requirements Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Good record-keeping ability. Proficiency with computers, printers, and barcode scanners. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) or similar tools. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) as needed.
