JOB DESCRIPTION:
manages inventory, shipping, and receiving of perishable fruits and vegetables, ensuring accuracy and quality control in a refrigerated environment. Key duties include updating inventory records (often with computers), inspecting incoming produce for freshness
JOB DUTIES:
- Inventory Control: Perform cycle counts, track inventory levels, and update records of incoming/outgoing produce.
- Shipping & Receiving: Inspect incoming produce for damage, freshness, and quality upon delivery.
- Documentation: Process invoices, billings, and shipping documents (bills of lading).
- Quality Management: Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO - First In, First Out) and report any damaged, rotten, or poor-quality produce.
- Warehouse Operations: Coordinate with forklift operators and material handlers to manage inventory, often working in refrigerated or cold storage areas.
- Compliance: Maintain safety and sanitation standards, including OSHA regulations and food hygiene practices.
- Data Entry: Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or basic software to log data.
