Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving lead hand is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping and receiving operations at our manufacturing plant. This role ensures that materials and products are accurately received, stored, and shipped in a timely manner while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and accuracy. The lead hand will develop and work with a team, coordinate with various departments, and

implement process improvements to optimize the workflow and meet production and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Train, and mentor the Shipping and Receiving department, ensuring high performance and professional development.

• Schedule and assign daily tasks to department members, balancing workloads to ensure efficiency.

• Oversee the receiving, inspection, and documentation of all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality.

• Manage outgoing shipments' preparation, packaging, and documentation, ensuring they meet customer specifications and delivery schedules.

• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper storage of materials and finished goods.

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety within the shipping and receiving operations.

• Collaborate with other departments, such as Production, Purchasing, and QA, to streamline processes and resolve any issues.

• Ensure that all shipping and receiving activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits to maintain a safe working environment.

• Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed by OSHA and participate in regular safety talks. Perform a visual inspection of equipment, including trucks, cranes, forklifts, and other tools, to ensure they are in safe working condition.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping and receiving inquiries, both internally and externally.

• Prepare and present regular reports on shipping and receiving performance to management.

• Coordinate inspection by the quality department for parts and materials that require quality control.

•  Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Completion of Secondary school and courses in computerized inventory management systems.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing.

• Driver’s license required.
