Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.
- Oversee and direct shipping teammates and contractors in their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory.
- Assist with material handling functions, including but not limited to, forklift operation.
- Daily review of shipping schedule and assigned work.
- Coach and train an effective and efficient shipping and receiving team.
- Monitor and maintain material handling equipment for safe operation.
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 year of training and/or experience in a Lead role.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend work instructions, safety rules, operating instructions, and processing instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Previous Rack Manufacturing and/or manufacturing experience
- Basic math skills to keep track of inventory.
- Bilingual – English and Spanish proficiency
- Previous shipping and receiving experience
