Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Pay: $19-$24 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, packaging, and supplies;verify quantities, quality, and condition against purchase orders and bills of lading
- Inspect all deliveries for damage, temperature compliance (especially for perishable items), and proper labeling;report any discrepancies immediately
- Unload trucks safely using pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), or manual methods;properly store materials in designated warehouse/production areas while following FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation
- Prepare outgoing orders for shipment, including picking, packing, labeling, and palletizing finished products (refrigerated sauces, dips, etc.) per customer specifications
- Generate shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, certificates of analysis, and temperature logs for cold-chain compliance
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and maintain cleanliness in receiving, storage, and shipping areas in accordance with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and maintain accurate records in inventory management system
- Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability and on-time deliveries
- Assist with loading/unloading refrigerated trucks and monitor cold storage temperatures
- Report any safety, quality, or food safety concerns immediately
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or logistics;*food manufacturing preferred *or perishable goods experience strongly preferred
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain within first month) a plus
- Electric Pallet Jack
- HASSA Certification
- Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office, inventory/ERP software)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork and counts
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in cold/refrigerated environments A MUST

Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time position, Temp to Hire
- First Shift 6am-2: 30pm Monday through Friday
- *Pay: *$19-$24 per hour (based on experience)
- Monday Friday (some flexibility for early/late shifts based on production needs)
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
